Founding and Mission
Initiated by the AGH University of Science and Technology’s Centre of Energy, the CCUS Poland Association was established to continue the work of the CCUS.pl project and to intensify activities in key areas related to the CCUS technology chain and its broader socio-economic context.
The founding meeting took place on October 1, 2024, and the Association was officially registered on November 19, 2024, marking the start of its operational activities.
Strategic Objectives and Focus Areas
Articulating the positions of the members of the CCUS Poland Association
Reviewing and providing opinions on legislative proposals and policy frameworks
Developing and advocating systemic approaches
Monitoring and collecting information on CCUS-related activities in Poland and across the EU
Delivering substantive expertise and advisory support
Raising awareness and promoting CCUS-related initiatives
and other statutory areas of activity as defined in § 4 and 5

Key Focus Areas
Systemic and Regulatory Engagement
- Providing expert opinions on legislative and non-legislative proposals and frameworks at the national and international level.
- Initiating, advocating for, and recommending systemic solutions – including CO₂ storage in the Baltic Sea, establishment of national CO₂ transport and storage operators, and bilateral international cooperation in the area of CO₂ storage.
- Representing the interests of members in relations with public authorities, trade unions, other organizations and stakeholders, as well as with supranational institutions and structures, including European Union bodies.
- Cooperating with experts in the field of CCUS technologies.
Socio-economic engagement
- Fostering, developing, and strengthening existing cooperative relationships among entities operating in the field of CCUS technologies in Poland.
- Collaborating with international organizations active in the area of CCUS technologies.
- Building a positive image of the CCUS sector and advocating for its strong position in shaping economic and climate policy.
- Conducting public information activities and organizing social campaigns related to the challenges and opportunities within the CCUS sector.
- Supporting the exchange of technical, organizational, and economic know-how, and inspiring new forms of cooperation.
